At Glasgow, I convene the MSc in Gender History, and contribute teaching in the history of gender and sexuality and modern British history to several components of the Honours and PGT curricula. I also convene (am the designer and lead instructor for) the following courses:
- British LGBTQ+ History (advanced undergraduate lecture course)
- Approaches to Queer and Trans Histories (PGT (master’s) course, i.e. graduate seminar)
Here are some miscellaneous pedagogical resources I have developed over the years:
- a colleague-facing handout identifying best practices for addressing classical Athenian pederasty in Western Civilization and similar classes (2020)
- an article, ‘Researching and Teaching with British Newsreels‘, that was published in Twentieth Century British History (2021)
- a colleague-facing trans history reading list, developed with my colleague Jack Doyle for a workshop in Oxford (2023)
- a student-facing handout about how to read for a graduate-level course in LGBTQ+ studies/history (2024)
